From our Future Now Environmental Expo to spearheading a ban on single-use plastic bags in Washington, WEC is always looking for ways to preserve the integrity of our environment and the living creatures who inhabit it.

WEC made history in 2014 when it helped Washington become the first municipality in Connecticut to ban the storage, transport and use of toxic fracking waste. Further back, WEC helped stop disastrous projects like the Sempra Power Plant and Iroquois Pipeline from affecting Washington and the surrounding area.

WEC continues to monitor environmental issues that affect both our local community and the world at large.
