Scholarships

The Washington Environmental Council annually provides scholarships to students that live or study in the town of Washington and are interested in pursuing environmental education.

Summer Programs: The Ken Williams Memorial Scholarship represents a grant up to $1,000 for middle or high school students to pursue a qualified environmental program during the summer or other part of the school year.  These scholarships are meant to honor Ken Williams, who was a past President and Treasurer of WEC and died in 1998.

College Scholarships:  The Mary Anne Erichsen Scholarship provides qualified college students, who concentrate on environmental studies and its many related fields, up to $2000.00 to help with tuition, room and board and other educational expenses.  A bequest by Mary Anne Erichsen, who supported many worthy environmental, land trust and civic projects during her lifetime, makes these grants possible.
